Barth Quenzer, a visual arts teacher at one of SCORES’ participating schools, Brown International Elementary, creates a piece to reflect “The Almight Zebra” by one of Brown’s poet laureates, Samantha O.

In describing the artistic quality of his art he says:

“My works occur through a prolonged aesthetic experience. It is turbulent process where I am forced to confront conceptual issues, contradictions, material and technical problems. Through this intense struggle, minor epiphanies occur, solutions are found, and aesthetic works are realized. Creating art is an immense challenge; cognitively, emotionally, and physically. But the results of these labor-intensive projects advance our thinking and allow us to communicate complex ideas to a broad audience.”
